Pre Excision Biopsy Care
- Sleeve gastrectomy is a type of bariatric surgery in which the stomach is reduced to about 25% of its original size by removing most of it along the length of the organ.
- The procedure is irreversible and will require long-term dietary and lifestyle changes to prevent future weight regain.
- Patients who undergo a sleeve gastrectomy will be required to follow a dietary plan for at least several weeks before the procedure to remove excess weight and prevent complications.
- Patients are required to take vitamins and mineral supplements permanently following their procedure.
- Downtime: You may resume normal activities after 2 weeks. You may be discharged 2-3 days after surgery.
- Avoid strenuous activity for at least four to six weeks in order to allow the incision to heal properly
